Exceptional Performance, Reliability, and Customer Service
I recently purchased the MARS-L 5.56 Shovelnose 16" Piston Rifle from D. Wilson Manufacturing, and I am thoroughly impressed.
Performance and Build Quality:
The build quality is exceptional, featuring a 16" chrome-lined barrel and an ambidextrous charging handle. This rifle comes with LMT's Ambi Charging Handle. I generally dislike milspec charging handles, preferring ambi T handles for their quicker and more pleasant use, and so on my other rifles I have switch to the Radian Raptors. That said, the LMT ambi charging handle is fantastic, offering easier and quicker purchase than the Raptor, and it doesn't dig into me when the rifle is slung.
Gas Plug and Cycling:
The rifle features a two-setting gas plug for suppressed and unsuppressed shooting. On the "N" setting (unsuppressed), the gun cycled reliably, ejecting at 3-4 o'clock. I didn't test the "S" setting unsuppressed. With my Polo K suppressor and the plug on the "S" setting, it functioned flawlessly, ejecting at 3 o'clock with extreme consistency.
Trigger:
The two-stage axle trigger is crisp and responsive, enhancing the overall shooting experience. I have experience with Geissele SSA-E and LaRue Tactical MBT-2S triggers. I typically prefer the LaRue trigger but the LMT trigger on this rifle is wonderful, with no need for replacement. The piston system has functioned flawlessly.

Before purchasing, I reached out to the store with a question and received a prompt and informative response. After purchasing, I had another question regarding the FFL license situation, and the responses were professional and patient, which I greatly appreciated.

The shipping to my FFL was fast, and the product arrived exactly as described. I am very happy with the rifle.
