FAQs
Do I need to disassemble my upper for a pin and weld?
- Generally no, 99% of uppers can remain completely assembled for a pin and weld.
What does timing mean and which one should I choose?
- Timing is simply the orientation of the muzzle device. Most devices get installed in with neutral timing, but some (like the Surefire Warcomp or the 6 port SOLGW Nox) can be installed and biased for a Right-hand or left-handed shooter.
Excerpt from the Surefire Warcomp installation instructions:
What should I send?
- You are welcome to send either your barrel assembly (barrel, barrel nut, gas block, and muzzle device) or you can send the complete upper. If you do plan to send your complete upper, please remove any optics prior to sending it to avoid the risk of damage during shipping.
My muzzle device doesn't have a pre-drilled hole, is that a problem?
- A muzzle device does not need to have a pre-drilled hole. If it does, great, we will use that for the pin and weld. If it does not, we will drill one as part of the pin and weld process
Can I use Rocksett?
- We would recommend against using rocksett. It some cases, it can contaminate the weld and cause it to have porosity.
Can I install my own muzzle device?
- We would prefer to install your muzzle device to insure it's installed to the proper torque and with no thread locker to avoid possible issues during the pin and weld process.
