Before I begin my journey in the real world, I decided I needed I proper desk. After surfing Craigslist, I found someone locally selling some black walnut that I made a butcher block style top for. I made a steel frame out of some 2" x 2" tubing and some 1/4" plate steel that I had bend with a press brake. Unfortunately I really didn't think the top making process through to well and soon realized how much of a pain it was to hand plane all the boards. Luckily after some calling around, I was able to find a cabinet maker with a planer/sander big enough to fit the finished top through.
d.wilson mfg works on interesting projects from time to time, so this is the place we'll share some of them.
